PFRON Releases Accessibility Compass Issues 14 and 15 on Transport Services
Poland's State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON) has published two new issues of Accessibility Compass focusing on passenger transport services and reporting accessibility barriers.
The State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON) has published the 14th and 15th issues of its informational publication, Kompas Dostępności (Accessibility Compass). The latest releases address the accessibility of services accompanying passenger transport.
Contact with Carriers and Journey Accessibility
Issue 14 focuses on the importance of accessible contact with the carrier during travel. PFRON emphasizes that travel accessibility covers the whole journey rather than isolated elements:
According to the publication, barrier-free travel means a journey in which the system supports the passenger instead of putting unnecessary obstacles in their way.
Complaints vs. Notifications of Non-Compliance
Issue 15 explains what a complaint is and how it differs from a notification of a lack of accessibility of a product or service.
Notifications regarding inaccessible products or services can be submitted online through the PFRON form and the Polish government portal gov.pl.
